Ingeborg Meulendijks lives and works in a 19th-century monastery in Steyl since 2001. She's an artist and in her studio she researches and designs architectural spaces for contemplation. She's got experience with architecture and religious heritage, and worked as head of the international academic master's programme Interior Architecture Maastricht. She studied at Jan van Eyck Maastricht - Postgraduate Institute for Research and Production in Art, Design and Theory, and received several grants from the Mondriaan Fund to further develop her oeuvre. In addition to independent work that has been included in art collections, she has realised several art commissions in the public domain, including a multi-faith chapel, quiet rooms and a memorial pavilion in collaboration with TextielLab Tilburg and the European Ceramic Work Centre EKWC. She has taught at academies and universities including Delft, Hasselt (B), Siegen (DE) and Manchester (UK). She is currently a researcher and mentor at the Maastricht Academy of Architecture.
